Vol State Champs

Bob Hearn finished the Last Annual Vol State 500K in 3:04:09:10, securing both the men’s crewed and “screwed” (no crew) records – previously 3:07:09:49 (crewed) and 3:14:11:31 (screwed) – as Hearn ran the entire race without assistance.

Beverly Anderson-Abbs finished in 4:00:49:33 and nabbed the women’s screwed record which was previously 4:07:17:55.

Vol State begins with a ferry ride across the Mississippi River, from Missouri to Kentucky, and finishes at “the Rock,” high atop Sand Mountain in northeast Georgia after crossing the state of Tennessee, traveling from the northwest corner to the southeast corner.
