To Sept 5 The National 2021: New Australian Art at the Art Gallery of NSW presents 14 artist projects that consider the potential of art to heal and care for fragile natural and social ecosystems. To Sept 19 Hilma af Klint: The Secret Paintings – more than a century after she painted her most celebrated works, Swedish artist Hilma af Klint is taking centre stage as her art captivates audiences around the world (see ad page 3). To Sept 26 Archie 100: A Century of the Archibald Prize – a landmark exhibition celebrating 100 years of Australia’s most prestigious portrait prize. Also, Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes 2021 – Australia’s favourite art award, the Archibald Prize, celebrates its 100th year in 2021. Along with the Wynne and Sulman Prizes, this is an annual exhibition eagerly anticipated by artists and audiences alike. To 2022 The Way We Eat explores how what we eat and drink, and the way that we do so, defines our times and our lives.

The current exhibition includes Ken Done’s most recent artistic expressions of the underwater world. The paintings are bold in colour, simultaneously familiar yet unexpected and filled with optimism. The artist’s brand new publication ‘Ken Done: Art Design Life’, a comprehensive and extensively illustrated monograph on Done’s art and design, celebrates the man, his life’s work and his legacy. Limited edition prints, posters and other art related products, including four mini books published by Thames & Hudson, themed on the reef, the beach, Sydney Harbour and the outback are available for sale in the gallery shop.
