MEET THE CASTAWAYS!

BRYNLEY STENT

32, actress/comedian

Why did you sign up?

I really want to challenge myself. It seems like a really scary and fun thing, and it will totally take me out of my comfort zone. I can’t go overseas, so let’s tackle something in New Zealand!

What’s your strategy?

I just want to do my best and try to be nice. Famous last words! I might get three days in with no food and be like, “I hate this person!”

ANGELA BLOOMFIELD

48, Shortland Street icon

Why did you sign up?

I’ve grown up watching shows like The Amazing Race and always thought, “Could I do that?” I was eager to see who I’d become in that situation. I’m either going to turn into a camp mum or have a panic attack at the top of some mountain!

What will be your biggest challenge?

The weather and lack of food. I’ll miss chocolate, chips and wine. If we can sneak a little thimble of wine in, then I’ll be good.
