Top-priced BMWs

CSL 1971-1973

Of all the classic cars that have really shot up in value in the last decade or so, BMWs have probably taken everyone by surprise.

The 3.0CSL was built in a few batches: the ultra-rare carburettor version in 1971 as LHD only, the 1972 injection model and the 1973 3.2-litre ‘Batmobile’.

Of these, the second gen cars with the Bosch D-Jetronic injection are most common here, with the UK-only ‘City Pack’ with Scheel seats, alloy bonnet, boot and doors but a similar level of trim and trinkets to the regular 3.0CSi.
