Thalassaki Tinos Island, Greece

here are brilliant tavernas dotted across the Greek islands but the tiny Thalassaki on the island of Tinos is an absolute favorite. There are only four tables and people fly in by helicopter from Athens just to eat there. Ifs run by a couple and the wife, Antonia, is in charge of the kitchen. The food is incredible; lots of fresh fish, homemade cheeses and homegrown vegetables and herbs. It is in the bay of Ysternia to the north-west of the island and is literally on the sea.
