Summer shrub cuttings

SHRUBS can be expensive to buy, and one reason for this is that they can take a few years in the nursery to reach garden-centre size. So, as we often say here at AG, the answer is to grow your own – or, in this case, root your own shrub cuttings.

Evergreen and deciduous shrubs, hedge plants, climbers, bushy herbs – even a few trees – are easy to propagate at home without sophisticated equipment, and doing it yourself will save you money or provide popular donations to your local charity plant sale. And what better way of sourcing hedge plants than to raise your own?
