hen 22-year-old Patricia Guillouard Adams made the transcontinental move from her home in France to the United States, she never would have guessed that she would one day end up in Richmond, Virginia. An aspiring fashion designer, it was only natural the Parisian’s first stop was New York City, where she spent a few years teaching French before starting her career designing her own line of immediately began to wonder what she would pursue next. While she had been an avid tea drinker since childhood, the idea of opening her own shop didn’t come to her until a friend recommended she tap into the knowledge of tea bestowed on Patricia by her grandmother.
