Timeless Mahindra

Despite many of us (that is, me) spending far too much of our youth poring over adverts for suspiciously cheap Mahindras in the Thames Valley Trader, I suspect most (me) know little about this Indian manufacturer.

Now we can all learn an awful lot more thanks to this superb new release that charts the 75-year history of the Indian industrial conglomerate. Its move into building US service 4x4s for the home maket grew out of sales and service of Willys MB Jeeps at the end of WW2, before taking on assembly of CJ-2A and CJ-3As and then manufacturing the CJ-3B in Mumbai right up until 2007, despite its arrangement with Willys Overland/Kaiser having come to an end decades earlier.
