Mogul makes milestone at Whitehead

THERailwayPreservationSocietyof Ireland’sLMS(NCC) 2-6-0No.105 project has reachedamajor milestonewith the completion of itsmain frames,which havebeenshotblastedat thegroup’s Whiteheadbase.

No. 105 is a recreation of one of a class of 15 mixed traffic tender locomotives designed by HP Stewart, the NCC’s locomotive superintendent.

Based on the successful LMS Fowler 2-6-4Ts but with 6ft diameter
