Theresa Dalton was convicted not once but twice for trying to kill her husband, Malcolm Stewart. After their marriage fell apart in 2010, the Gold Coast woman urged her new boyfriend, Anthony Werner, to recruit his ‘old acquaintance’, Matthew Neels, to kill her ex. Dalton paid $20,000 upfront to Neels, with another $20,000 after the hit was carried out, according to crown prosecutor, David Finch. But the ‘hitman’ never carried out the plot and pocketed the cash instead.
