HOW CHICANERY LEFT A STING IN THE TAIL OF THE ARGYLL RALLY

Unfortunately, people currently live in a society where – more often than not – everyone concentrates on the negatives rather than the positives. While the recent Scottish Rally Championship opener, theArgyll Rally, was a triumph in that it kickstarted multi-venue rallying in Scotland and closed-road rallying in the UK after the Covid hiatus, all the talk about on the way home was penalties. And chicanes.

Chicanes caused a bit of a rumble on the British Rally Championship opener at Oulton Park in May too, but that’s perhaps expected on a circuit rally.
