It took decades of herculean effort to slowly move the needle of the perception of cannabis away from being lumped together with hard drugs, such as cocaine, meth or heroin, to where it is now—a legitimate medicine that is also acceptable for adult use. After all, cannabis generally doesn’t tear apart families, destroy relationships or cause drug-overdose deaths, as do harmful street drugs in some cases.
But controversial new products are now challenging the very core of ethics within the cannabis industry—forcing us to ask ourselves a hard question: Are insufflated cannabis products dangerous?
Products like snortable cannabis are problematic—but let’s not let everyone else off the hook. Products that resemble candy brands or chewing tobacco are also morally questionable, at best. It’s up to the industry as a whole to define itself as one that is ethically sound
