JOE BECKWITH, a righthander who pitched in the major leagues for seven seasons in 1979 and ’80 and from 1982-86 with the Dodgers and Royals, died May 22 in Auburn, Ala. He was 66.
Beckwith was on the Royals squad that won the 1985 World Series, and he finished his career with an 18-19, 3.54 record. He appeared in 229 games, converted seven saves and struck
