THE LEGEND

My career as an artist, and my inspiration for my art, came from the surfing lifestyle.

I was about 12 when we started making our own “belly boards”, a piece of plywood rounded off at the front, square at the back and painted to waterproof. Mine had an iron cross on it! My first proper surfboard was a 9’0” log. I cut it down and re-shaped it; the result was a 4’9” diamond-tail shorebreak special! It had a red background with a black spider sprayed on it. Pretty soon I was making my own boards, or I’d get a shaped blank, paint and glass
