The Many Sides of Mercury
He’s back! Mercury, that mis–chievous imp, is going to be retrograde for the third time this year. from September 27 to October 18, turning some things in our lives upside down for a few weeks. Mercury, the trickster, loves to play practical jokes on people. Think of Mercury in his retrograde phase as if he were Curious George, the lovable monkey who always gets into trouble, and somehow slips out of it before you know it.
Mercury is in charge of many aspects of our lives, not just our mental processes, although that is its number one function. This planet is named after the ancient Roman god who was so fleet-footed that his symbol was a pair of winged sandals, making for quick delivery of messages between the heavens and the earth. Mercury is of course the same as (or perhaps we should say borrowed from) the Greek god Hermes.
This year has already featured two retrogrades in Air signs, with the first in Aquarius from January 30 to February 20, the second from May 29 to June 22 in Gemini, and now the one starting this month will be in Libra.
