The stage is set, the curtain is going up and audiences around the country are ready to be dazzled by the best of British theatre. As they prepare for showtime, the glamorous leading ladies of five iconic productions have gathered for this exclusive hello! photoshoot.
With UK theatres now finally able to open their doors safely with social distancing measures in place, no one is more excited than the talented actors and dancers who call the stage their home.
There’s a buzz of delight in the air as Singin’ in the Rain’s Faye Tozer, Phantom of the Opera’s Lucy St Louis and Pretty Woman’s Aimie Atkinson join Aisha Jawando, who is about to step into Tina Turner’s shoes to star in the musical about the legendary diva’s life, and Rocky Horror Show’s leading lady Haley Flaherty, to strike an elegant pose.
“There’s nothing quite like that feeling just before the show starts; you can feel the excitement and anticipation in the air,” says Aimie, while Lucy tells us she can’t wait for “curtain up on that first performance”, which will be “electrifying”.
