SYMPTOMS OF SOIL COMPACTION
A compacted soil is a poor home for plant roots. Roots need to breathe, and the poor amount of air space makes the roots’ quest for oxygen difficult. Compaction also restricts drainage, making it even harder for the roots to breathe. Also plant roots may struggle to penetrate through harder soil, and seedlings will struggle to emerge
