Last of the Gilded Ones

The name Eldorado roughly translates to “the Gilded One” or, “that which is made of gold.” And, for its 12th and final generation, Cadillac’s opulent coupe still gleamed. The personal luxury car market still seemed an empire upon which the sun might never set. Even if by 1992 the shadows were starting to lengthen, I wonder if anyone knew then that, arguably, the finest Eldorado would also be the last?
