Paris Saint-Germain’s recent domestic dominance finally came to an end on Sunday, May 23. After three consecutive successful league campaigns for the capital club it was Lille who wrestled the title from their grasp, winning 2-1 away at Angers to finish the 38-game season one solitary point ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
PSG won their final game 2-0 away at Brest, but a goal from the Canadian Jonathan David and a penalty calmly tucked away by Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz saw Lille over the line.
