A first step for Global Britain

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Australian leader Scott Morrison (pictured) this week jointly announced a “new dawn” in the form of a trade deal between the two countries, says The Times. Although still only “an agreement in principle”, with details “yet to be hammered out”, this is the first genuinely new producers of cars, Scotch whisky and confectionery are expected to be winners from the removal of Australian barriers; Australian producers of beef, lamb and sugar will benefit from the removal of UK tariffs and quotas.
