1 WHAT IS BIAS TAPE?
Several seam-finishing techniques make use of bias tape (also known as bias binding). Traditionally, the tape is made from strips of woven fabric, cut on the bias – hence the name. Being cut on the bias (at a 45-degree angle to the grain of the fabric) means that the fibres of the strip are slightly stretchy, making it much easier to fit them around the curves of your project.
