Skye Campbell is a location scout who produces shoots for big brands in beautiful places. She has an eye for a great setting, so when the Tasmanian native and her electrician husband, Juan Hamelink, found this waterfront block in Swansea, on the east coast, they moved fast. Their plan was to build a contemporary house influenced by local design projects they admired the most, from stone, steel, timber and glass. They wanted its orientation to give the best views of the region’s big sky and ever-changing weather and looked to Hobart-based Crump Architects to draw up their musings.
