PURE ETCR THE START OF SOMETHING BIG?

Claims don’t come much bolder. “I think Pure ETCR will become bigger than Formula E,” Tom Chilton tells Motorsport News. “As it gets bigger Formula E potentially will get smaller because manufacturers will [say] we’re actually racing cars [in Pure TCR] which look like our road cars and fit with our marketing of the next car coming out.”

Perhaps it’s little wonder Chilton feels this way. Pure ETCR is the world’s first all-electric, multi-manufacturer, touring car championship, and it gets going the weekend after next at Vallelunga in Italy.And, for starters, three brands will fight for glory: Hyundai, Seat Cupra andAlfa Romeo.
