The “leaking and counter-leaking”, designed to “nudge” behaviour rather than add clarity; the “patronising assumption” that the public can’t grasp a nuanced message; and, of course, the “extreme risk-aversion”. Lockdown has “lubricated the slippery slope” to authoritarianism.
