‘I’ve brought the the outside in’

Previously living in a small Victorian schoolhouse conversion, Kay Prestney and her husband Andy were looking for a larger home in which to start their family when they found a modern L-shaped house in the next village. Originally looking for another period property, they were won over by the open-plan ground-floor layout and sliding doors, which cover an entire wall in the living room and open out onto the garden.

The couple quickly set about repainting all the walls and woodwork in the house using a muted colour palette of whites and pale greys
