Over the course of the last few issues, we’ve been taking an in-depth look at bassists who have played a pivotal role in the development of the slap bass technique. But in a break from our scheduled programming, we’re going to set the slap bass aside for this issue, and instead focus our attention on this month’s cover star, John Paul Jones. As most bassists will already know, Jones has played an important part in the development of the bass guitar’s role in rock music, and his work is rightly celebrated.
