IT LOOKS scary and its name is just as scary. But in reality the relatively small daggernose shark (Isogomphodon oxyrhynchus) isn’t a threat to people at all. In fact, the opposite is true: it’s critically endangered because human activity is threatening the survival of this unique shark species and it might well become extinct because of us.
AVERAGE SIZE
The daggernose is quite small – it grows to about 1,5m long and weighs about 13kg.
