I suffered from awful periods, abdominal pain and fatigue for many years, but it took years to diagnose me with endometriosis (a condition where tissue similar to that in your womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes).

I agreed to a hysterectomy when I was 48, but I’d never had any surgery before,
