When Enduro Editor Geoff Braico came back from Tuscany in 2019, full of Chianti and the world’s finest pasta and rabbiting on about the MY20 Beta RR390 (ADB #481/482), we raised our collective eyebrows. Braico expressed his admiration for the major redesign the Italians had done across the range and made mention of how the changes had reaped their biggest reward in the 390.
He made wild claims that it was now built for “high-performance” and that EnduroGP champ Steve Holcombe was considering racing one in 2020. Who would have believed that? Then who would have believed that some crazed Wuhan bat would cause COVID-19?
I’ve ridden every model of the RR390 since its inception and at no stage would I have picked someone like Holcombe to consider
