The international Grindstone Short Story Prize 2021 has prizes of £500, £200 and four £50 for shortlisted entries, for original, unpublished short fiction in any genre for adult readers between 1,000 and 3,000 words. The shortlist for the Women’s Prize For Fiction, for the best novel published in the UK between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021, has been announced as The Vanishing Half, Brit Bennett; Piranesi, Suzanna Clarke; Unsettled Ground, Claire Fuller; Transcendent Kingdom, Yaa Gyasi; How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps, Cherie Jones; No One is Talking About This,. 2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the award formerly known as the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Orange Prize for Fiction.
