WHERE I GREW UP in New York, opening day of trout season holds more weight than Christmas. If it weren’t for the food and football, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be in the running, either. And there’s one event in particular that embodies this annual celebration: the Naples Creek Rainbow Trout Derby, held every April 1. This year was the 60th, and it was run online over four days.
