ADVENTURE H-D Style

LAST YEAR IT SEEMED LIKE HARLEY-DAVIDSON WERE ON THEIR WAY OUT of our market, but the motor company is back with a bang: a fresh 2021 line-up, and their first ever adventure bike. The Pan America 1250 has been a long time coming and has finally been launched at Rs 16.9 lakh for the Standard variant, while the top-end Special retails for Rs 19.9 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). This pricing positions it just above the current crop of middleweight adventure bikes such as the Triumph Tiger 800, Honda Africa Twin, and Ducati Multistrada 950, but below full-size ADVs like the BMW R 1250 GS.

The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is built around steel and aluminium frame components, held together by the company’s first oversquare V-twin which acts as a stressed member of the chassis structure. The motor marks a departure from Harley’s traditional long-stroke architecture and puts out 152 hp and 128 Nm of peak torque, helped along by a Variable Valve Timing system for a healthy spread of torque all through the rev-range. Suspension is fully adjustable with 190 millimetres of travel at both ends and is semi-active for the Special variant. Other features include a non-reflective touchscreen TFT dash, five ride modes, connectivity options, navigation, IMU-based safety aids, and adjustable ride height on the Special.
