RESIN IS A LIQUID PLASTIC that becomes solid following the addition of a ‘hardener’. It has many different uses and features greatly in jewellery making as bangles, beads and adhesives – and is often used to cover other items such as dried flowers or metal to turn into pendants and focal pieces. It is also quite lightweight, which means you can wear multiple layers of resin beads and not get a sore neck!
Resin is viscous so it is well suited to being used in moulds; this makes it an ideal medium to use if you wish to make the same item over and over again.
Synthetic resin is very similar in structure to natural resin, which you can often see seeping from trees. Natural resins can sometimes
