In a Numismatic News column seven years ago (April 29, 2014), I asked if readers had considered why grading coins can be difficult. The short answer was because grading is subjective. I opined this was due to the knowledge, experience and vision of the grader/deal- er/collector. Then I promised to explain some of the other factors for any difficulties in a future column.
