Designing a sunroom – a glazed extension bringing indoors and out together – can create a valuable, light-filled space in your home that, unlike the conservatories of the ’80s and ’90s (which were either boiling hot or far too chilly!), is able to be enjoyed throughout the year.
The term ‘sunroom’ can be applied to a range of glazed extensions; the precise definition tends to vary slightly depending on who you’re speaking to. Typically however, they are built using more solid construction materials than a conventional, fully-glazed conservatory, with brick, block, timber and the like, providing a solid framework for large spans of glass that lend the desired sun-soaked feel.
