Huffing and puffing as I made my way up the stairs, I paused at the top to catch my breath. ‘Time for school,’ I shouted across to my son Rylee, now eight.
‘OK Mum,’ he replied, rubbing his eyes.
But as I got him dressed in his uniform, I was feeling worryingly out of breath.
I suffered with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – a lung condition that means I often have difficulty when it comes to breathing.
But that wasn’t my only problem when it came to my health.
