International Report

SINCE THE PREVIOUS edition of the “International Report” went to press, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has finished presenting its annual New Japan Cup. Will Ospreay would become the second English wrestler to win the tournament, following Zack Sabre Jr., who shockingly won the tournament in 2018. On his way to claiming the cup, Ospreay gained victories over Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Zack Sabre Jr., SANADA, David Finlay, and, lastly, Shingo Takagi in the final.

Key tournament results saw defeat reigning NEVER openweight champion in the second round defeated current KOPW titleholder in the quarter-final round. As is tradition in NJPW tournament action, the non-title victory for EVIL also allowed him to lay claim to a championship match in the near future.
