VALVES. Engine valves. Intake and exhaust valves. Often overlooked, as that’s just what your mill came with, but absolutely critical to developing torque and horsepower.
And you can certainly over-valve and lose lots of ponies. How? Look at the combustion chambers of your cylinder head. Normally, neither the intake nor the exhaust valves will be jammed up against the vertical sides of the chambers. Bewdy; we can fit bigger valves in here, as there’s enough room between the sides
