Frost bite Anti-frost candles burn in a vineyard in France after the worst cold snap in decades devastated 80 per cent of the country’s vineyards. The lost golden city

An ancient city has been discovered near Luxor, Egypt, in one of the most important finds since the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Aten or the ‘lost golden city’ is said to be 3000 years old and is the largest ancient city ever uncovered in Egypt. Items of jewellery have been found, as well as pottery vessels, scarab beetle amulets and mud bricks bearing the seal of ninth pharaoh Amenhotep III.
