Frost bite Anti-frost candles burn in a vineyard in France after the worst cold snap in decades devastated 80 per cent of the country’s vineyards. Rhone Valley and Bordeaux were two of the many regions affected, the frost delivering another painful blow to an industry struggling to cope with the effects of COVID and Trump’s tariffs.
EGYPT
The lost golden city
An ancient city has been discovered near Luxor, Egypt, in one of the most important finds since the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Aten or the ‘lost golden city’ is said to be 3000 years old and is the largest ancient city ever uncovered in Egypt. Items of jewellery have been found, as well as pottery vessels, scarab beetle amulets and mud bricks bearing the seal of ninth pharaoh Amenhotep III.
