The Dartmoor Classic began life in 2007 and has since become an essential fixture for UK riders and beyond, regularly attracting some 4000 entrants to the south west. Beginning at Newton Abbot racecourse, the three openroad routes on offer all venture away from the coast and into the rugged and windswept hills of Dartmoor National Park. With 3400m of climbing on the longest route, it’s certainly no picnic, although the famous feed stations, which our features editor likens to a Waitrose deli counter, will certainly ease the pain.
