HOW TO FIX THE HIGH STREET

Covid has changed the way we think about many things and the high street is no di›ferent. Following a year in which online jumped to 36 per cent of overall retail sales and the collapse of chain retailers gathered furious pace, no one believes retail can form the backbone of the high street any longer. The future of the high street will be more civic than commercial, rooted in public services, community use, housing and workspace as much as retail, leisure and hospitality.
