Claas Vario versus Convio headers: Auger or belts?

When we were testing the Claas Lexion 5500 TT for last month’s magazine, we used it with both the Vario 770 header, which has an auger to direct the crop to the middle, and the Convio 770 Flex belt-based table. We didn’t get to tuck into field beans or peas, but we did manage to tackle cereals and OSR.
