THE sun is Earth’s main source of energy, which can be stored in various fuels to be used later. These fuels or energy sources – such as wood, petrol, charcoal, gas, candle wax, oil and coal – can then be used for our survival and comfort. We use fuels to keep us warm, cook our food, provide light, power our transport and much more.
Energy sources can be renewable or non-renewable. For a long time people have been using non-renewable sources to provide us with the fuels we need. But because of the growing world population there’s an increasing demand for energy.
