GUAVA MOTH
The guava moth is a problem without a remedy from what I read in your mag and many others. It certainly is in our mini-orchard in Whangarei.
We have two old feijoas, both riddled. Also two guavas, only one infested. They live side by side but only the one producing yellow fruit cops it, and badly. The red fruit (going black when ripe) are completely free of the moth. Is this a known factor? Does it hold a clue for research?

Thank you. Duncan Smith wrote ‘How to identify and control guava moth’ in our Jan/Feb issue. His first thought was that many insects are attracted to yellow in preference to other colours, and that perhaps this was the case here.
