BEST OF BECKLEY
As one third of the band America, Gerry Beckley — along with Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek — ruled the airwaves during the 1970s with acoustic-driven pop rock, garnering six gold and platinum albums and nine Top 40 hits along the way. With the departure of Peek in 1977 (who passed away in 2011), the group soldiered on with its core two founding members Beckley and Bunnell, who have continued releasing new music and touring in the ensuing years.
Alongside America, Beckley also ventured forth with a solo career, releasing his debut solo outing, Van Go Gan, in 1995. Since then, he has released nine solo albums to date, including a collaboration with Chicago’s Robert Lamm and The Beach Boys’ Carl Wilson titled Like a Brother that arrived in 2000. Keeping the Light On: The Best of Gerry Beckley was released in March.
