Lifejacket lights – a warning!

LETTERS OF THE MONTH

As part of my annual servicing of the seven lifejackets on my boat Hullabaloo XV, I always inflate them fully for 48 hours, check and replace where necessary: gas bottles, bobbins or cartridges and lights.

This year I found that two of the jackets leaked around the valve on the manual inflation tube, so these were immediately cut up and replaced with nice new Spinlock ones. However, three of the lights were nearly out of date, so I ordered replacements.
