While not wholly devoid of raucous riff-rock, the set largely drew influence from mid-70s and the wistful conjuring visions of fireside summer camp bonding sessions. “It was the most relaxed and simple and perfect recording session I’ve ever been in in my life,” Grohl later claimed. “I honestly think it’s my favourite Foo Fighters record… It’s such a relaxed, honest, organic and real album.”
