Welcome!
I’ve long joked that once you’re on team you never really leave. Our Ms MoneySaver, Sam, has been with longer than I have. And that’s a long time, given I joined came out. The film’s mermaid character, played by Daryl Hannah, didn’t have a ‘land’ name. But after spotting a sign for New York’s Madison Ave, she decided that was it. I know of a few Tennilles who were born in the decade immediately following Captain & Tennille’s hit song ‘Love Will Keep Us Together’. And of course, there are lots of grown-up Tabithas who have the 1960s sitcom to thank for their lovely name. On the team, Kathryn’s middle name Emily was chosen from Pink Floyd’s 1967 single, ‘See Emily Play’, because her dad was such a fan. And Jude’s son Billy, was so named because Jude was studying William Shakespeare when she was heavily pregnant. ‘It seemed a nice tribute to give him a modern version of the name,’ said Jude. I’d love to hear from any readers who were named after famous songs or people!
