It’s an awareness that the seasons are changing and there’s no going back. This isn’t just a cold spell; we’re heading for shorter days and cooler months. Thankfully, autumn fare offers such glorious, golden cosiness that I can’t stay forlorn for long. While summer is all about freshness and crunch, it’s time to make the transition to slow-cooked food that’s soft and bubbling, comforting and reassuring in its familiarity.
