Mornings with Jesus

MONDAY, MAY 3

AS OUR BUS NEARED THE entrance of the orphanage in Uganda, we heard cheering. We rounded the corner to see hundreds of kids shouting and means “traveler” in Swahili). The joy of these children overwhelmed me. After nearly forty-eight hours of travel, this was my first moment experiencing the organization our church has supported for ten years. Tears filled my eyes. When we got off the bus, the children hugged us, then grabbed our hands and proudly showed us their bunkrooms and classrooms. It was one of the most precious moments of my life.
